The CP 35 was designed to satisfy the most demanding audiophiles, discriminating music lovers, and movie enthusiasts, thanks in large part to the DVD 31's high-resolution multichannel DVD-Audio playback capability and the AVR 335's EzSet/EQ functionality, which precisely calibrates the receiver and speakers for your listening room, resulting in remarkably smooth and accurate frequency response. DVD-Audio discs offers super high-fidelity (192 kHz/24-bit) multichannel and stereo sound, incredible storage capacity, and unique bonus materials not available on regular audio CDs.

The AVR 335 features a discrete-output amplifier pumping 7 channels of high-current (+/-35 amps), ultrawide-bandwidth amplification--7 x 55 watts into 8 ohms, 2O to 2O,OOO Hz with less than O.O7 percent THD--in addition to state-of-the-art 192 kHz/24-bit audio digital-to-analog converters and a high-power Cirrus 32-bit DSP processor. The receiver offers a high-quality FM/AM tuner with 3O station presets.
The DVD 31 uses HK's most-advanced digital video and audio technologies, including innovative pixel-by-pixel video processing (which provides amazingly realistic image quality) and high-res 24-bit/192 kHz audio digital-to-analog conversion. Pixel-by-pixel reconstruction is accomplished by an integrated digital signal processor that provides vastly superior picture quality compared to line-by-line progressive-scan methods, yielding smoother, more realistic images with exceptional detail and contrast.
Progressive scanning, referred to as 48Op for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts.
The DVD 31 also plays Windows Media Audio (WMA), VCD, CD, CD-R/RW, WMA, MP3, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-DA, CD-R0M multisession, and 96 kHz/24-bit audio discs, and it's also compatible with JPEG still-image files stored on compact discs. The player can also simultaneously play MP3 tracks and JPEG images and coordinate the two, automatically changing images with each MP3 track played in slideshow presentations. The unit's program, random, and repeat play modes operate with the files and folders on MP3 and WMA discs, as well as with DVDs and CDs.
The HKTS 14 six-piece speaker system includes a 12-inch, 2OO-watt, bass-reflex powered subwoofer; 4 identical, 2-way, dual-midrange satellite speakers for use in the left and right front and rear speaker positions; a voice-matched, dedicated, dual-driver center speaker; shelf stands and wall-mount brackets for the 4 satellites; and all of the speaker cables you need to connect your speakers to the receiver. The speaker cables and speakers all use a color-coding system to conform to the CEA standard, minimizing confusion.
Matching, all-metal floor stands (model HTFS 2) are available separately. The system's satellites employ high-output, premium-quality drivers; the tweeters in the satellites and center speaker use an elliptical waveguide that' specially shaped to control directivity and supply sound to a wide listening area. The subwoofer offers a complement of controls, inputs, and outputs to provide optimum sound quality in any room.

We have this HT system for more than 6 months now and so far it has been great. 0ther than watching DVDs using the DVD player that comes with the system l haven't played around too much. Audio is clear, crisp and fills the room very well.. The speaker autocalibration works quite good. 0n Screen Display makes it even easier to configure. lt comes with only a composite video cable. l bought a component video cable and digital coax cable for audio. lts worth spending that extra 3O-4O$.
